We can petition the Lord boldly, not as a demand but as a sincere part of being in relationship with Him. We can take specific, heartfelt requests to Him because He loves us.
Philippians 4:6 – do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Be willing to go all in with Jesus, giving Him your whole heart, and then He can do a work in us each. We can ask the Lord to purify ourselves so that we can experience the signs and wonders of the Lord.
2 Timothy 21-22 – Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
We all can struggle with being willing to listen. No one who waits on the Lord will ever regret it! When we focus on the Lord and His direction for our lives, that is what can make us whole and help us grow.
Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousnessfor his name’s sake.
To keep in step with Jesus helps us live and be like Jesus! Instead of focusing on the issues, problems of our lives, what would it look like for us to pray to be in step with Him? The things in our life can be heavily influenced by our walk with the Lord.
Galatians 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
When we are not satisfied with certain areas of our life, we can begin to steward the things the Lord has given us poorly. It is important that we identify His provisions, consider our petitions to Him, and consistently spend time with Him. It is only intimacy with Jesus that can satisfy our souls!
Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
